Despite the recession, a high failure rate, and extremely long hours business owners are a very happy bunch. A recent Wall Street Journal article reported on the broadest, most comprehensive survey yet of how occupation affects happiness. Business owners outranked doctors, lawyers, executives and managers, as well as transportation and factory workers in overall well-being and contentment. The study looked at six criteria of contentment: emotional and physical health, job satisfaction, healthy behavior, access to basic needs, and overall life quality.
